Applicants must be graduating high school seniors at a Colorado high school and must have plans to study engineering, mathematics or science at an accredited four-year postsecondary institution. They must be enrolled in college beginning in the fall of the application year, have an unweighted GPA of 3.7 or higher and have a composite ACT score of 28 or higher or a cumulative SAT score of 1200 or higher. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

Applications are available online. An application form, three letters of recommendation, standardized test scores, a transcript and a personal essay are required.
