Common Knowledge Public Relations Scholarship (Visit this link)
The PR/communications industry has experienced tremendous growth over the past decade. PR consultants have a wide range of tasks including portraying a company in a favorable light, communicating with the media, managing crises and planning special events. This scholarship contest has two rounds: Round 1 is a short, multiple choice quiz based on questions from college-level PR courses. You receive 500 points for each correct answer and lose 1 point for each second taken to complete each question. The top 20 students with the most points at the end advance to Round 2. Participants advancing to Round 2 will submit an original newsletter article on one of three topics. The article should be no more than two pages long. The writing sample will be graded on: 1. creativity 2. accuracy 3. spelling/punctuation/correct use of AP style Here are the topics for the newsletter article: Option 1: Write about a person in your life that has greatly influenced you. Option 2: Write about your plans for after college graduation (career, hobbies, volunteer work, etc). Option 3: Write about an important accomplishment/milestone in your life, college, or work.
