L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of The Future Contest
The L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of The Future Contest is an ongoing merit competition for new and amateur artists. Run on a quarterly basis, an eligible entry is comprised of three science fiction/fantasy illustrations done in a black & white medium rendered from the artist's imagination. Should the artist win with this entry, he is then sent a story from the companion L. Ron Hubbard Writers of The Future Contest for which to render an illustration.This illustration then becomes his or her entry in the yearly Grand Prize competition. Three winners are selected each quarter and are awarded $500 each; the yearly Grand Prize winner is awarded $4000. There is a limit of one entry per entrant per quarter, entrants retain all rights in their artwork, no entry fee is required, and judging is by professional artists only.
Air and Waste Management Association Scholarships
A&WMA will be awarding scholarships for the 2009-2010 academic year. The award amounts are subject to change, at the discretion of the Trustees of the Air & Waste Management Association Scholarship Endowment Trust Fund. Scholarship money can only be used for tuition, fees, student stipends, or other related educational expenses. Award checks will be sent directly to winners' schools. Individuals must be full-time graduate students pursuing courses of study and research leading to careers in air quality, waste management, environmental management/policy/law, and/or sustainability during the 2009-2010 academic year. Membership is not a requirement for the student or their advisor; however, it is strongly encouraged. The Scholarship is a one-year award. Individuals must reapply to qualify for a second year.
Nicodemus Wilderness Project – Apprentice Ecology Initiative
Students who like to pick up trash, plant trees or have discovered a novel way to help the earth can earn an award for their environmental passion. $500 educational scholarships are awarded each year for the writers of the ten best essays.
The Next Iron Chef Scholarship
Enter The Next Iron Chef Scholarship Contest for a chance to earn $20,000 toward a culinary education at The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes. Hispanic Scholarship Fund/ Procter And Gamble Company Scholarship
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and Procter & Gamble Company have partnered to provide financial resources to assist outstanding Latino undergraduates pursuing degrees in the STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
BURGER KING Scholars Program
The BURGER KING trademark Scholars Program focuses on providing scholarship awards to assist students who excel academically while also working part-time (you do not need to be employed by BK) and being actively involved in their community. An eligible applicant must also be a current high school senior who will be enrolling full-time in the fall of the scholarship year.
The 2010 Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship new
Applicants must satisfy all of the following criteria to be eligible:
* be a female student entering her senior year of undergraduate study or be enrolled in a graduate program in the 2010-2011 academic year at a university in the United States;
* be enrolled in Computer Science or Computer Engineering program, or a closely related technical field as a full-time student for the 2010-2011 academic year;
* maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale or 4.5 on a 5.0 scale or equivalent in your current program.
Philadelphia Eagles Common Knowledge Scholarship
The Philadelphia Eagles Common Knowledge Scholarship rewards students for their knowledge of the football team. Administered by the Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation at www.cksf.org, students are quizzed on information found on the Philadelphia Eagles web site, www.philadelphiaeagles.com including fun facts about the team’s history, statistics, and players.
Collegiate Inventors Competition
Students must be enrolled (or have been enrolled) full-time in any U.S. or Canadian college or university at least part of the 12-month period prior to the date the entry is submitted. In the case of a team (maximum of four students), at least one member of the team must meet the full-time eligibility criteria. The other team members must have been enrolled on a part-time basis (at a minimum) sometime during the 24-month period prior to the date the entry is submitted.
National Ice Cream Retailers Scholarship
If you work at an ice cream shop or other store that sells ice cream you may be able to win one of 17 $1,000 scholarships! First, find out if your employer is a member of the National Ice Cream Retailers Association. Second, have them recommend you for this scholarship. They may not even know it exists, but now you do!
