TwinStar Credit Union Higher Education Scholarship

TwinStar Credit Union offers scholarships to members who have been out of high school for at least one year and are pursuing higher education. Each year, 8 scholarships of $1,000 are awarded. Applications are due by July 31.

The College Inquirer is launching a scholarship essay contest worth $750. Applicants are challenged to write about who they would choose as the leader of their country in the 2012 Presidential Election. The submission deadline is August 14.

The Michelle Eustache Health Equity Grant

In memory of Michelle Eustache, and in honor of her work in social justice and underserved communities, the Naturopathic Medical Student Association is offering an annual Health Equity Grant. It will be awarded to a student, club, or association whose work also focuses on social justice and underserved populations. In addition, it may be awarded to work focusing on global health or multiculturalism. The application deadline for this scholarship has been extended to July 31.

Richard G. Miller Memorial Foundation UIFI Scholarships

The Richard G. Miller Foundation awards 100 scholarships to students to attend the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute in the summer. Nearly 450 students from across the country have been able to attend this event through the foundation's annual scholarships. The students have the opportunity to positively impact their own chapters, and communities, in countless ways.

Sonic Electronix's Audiophile Scholarship

Sonic Electronix, a supplier of high quality car stereo equipment, provides this scholarship to students who share a passion for audio. Anyone who has a passion for DJ equipment or the intricacies of headphones, or whose academic career will involve automotive, mechanical, or electrical engineering, is encouraged to fill out the essay application, which will be due July 31.

Diversity Abroad Achievement Scholarship

Offered by AIFS, a leading provider of study abroad programs, up to ten of these $1,000 semester scholarships will be awarded to outstanding students of under-represented groups. Each applicant must demonstrate academic achievement and/or community service activity participation. The deadline for those who wish to study abroad during the Spring Semester is September 15. For those who are spending the Fall Semester abroad, the deadline will be April 15.

AIFS International Scholarships

Each semester, AIFS offers $1,000 scholarships to 40 students who demonstrate academic achievement, and who compose noteworthy essays about how studying abroad will impact their academic and personal growth. Scholarship applications for the academic year and fall semester are due on April 15. Entries for the spring semester should be submitted by September 15.

Live Poets Society of New Jersey Scholarship Poetry Contest

All United States high school students are eligible to enter this contest. Applicants should submit poems of 20 lines or less that are unique, unpublished, and in the English language. Every three months,there will be one first place $500 scholarship winner, and one editor's choice $100 scholarship prize, to total four prizes in each category throughout each year. Submissions are accepted at any time of the year, although deadlines for each of the organization's publications are June 30, September 30, December 31, and March 30.

Maryknoll Society Essay Contest

In a 500 to 750 word essay, this Maryknoll Society is inviting applicants to explain how they go about the world spreading the good news of instant messaging and digital social networking. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded. The deadline to apply is December 1.

Jobbins Scholarship

Sponsored by the Northeastern Mosquito Control Association, the Jobbins scholarship is devoted to promoting the control of mosquitoes. The scholarship will be awarded to a student whose work is in an area relevent to mosquito or biting fly control in the Northeast. Applications should be submitted by November 1. The recipient will be awarded up to $2,000.
