Bipolar Lives Scholarship

Every year we award a $500 cash prize to a student enrolled in a United States college, community college or trade school. The award will be made to the person who most eloquently communicates important information about bipolar disorder, either based on the established research or drawn from personal experience. Elaine Chapin Memorial Scholarship

Named in honor of Elaine Chapin, this scholarship will provide funds to support post-secondary education of an individual(s) impacted by multiple sclerosis, either directly or as a family member. Applications will be accepted January 1 through May 31, 2009. The number of awards and amounts are determined on merits of applications received. Minimum amount awarded will be $500.00. Proof of registration will be required before forwarding of funds. Recipients will be chosen on basis of financial need, academic standing and impact with which multiple sclerosis has affected their lives. Applicants must be citizen of United States who plans to enroll in an undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four year college, university or vocational/technical school located in the United States. Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester in course work leading to a degree, license or certificate. To apply please email elainememorial@sbcglobal.net. Applicants must complete and send the application, an official transcript of their most recent academic grades, plus 2 letters of reference by May 31, 2009, to the address listed at the top of this page for consideration. Gordon A. Rich Memorial Foundation scholarship

The Gordon A. Rich Memorial Foundation (www.gordonrich.org) is now accepting applications for grants for the 2009-2010 academic year. The need-based scholarship supports the higher education goals of five students each year who are awarded $12,500/year for four years. In light of the magnitude of lost jobs in the financial services industry, the Foundation has recently expanded its criteria to encompass students whose parents either work, or have worked, in the financial services industry. Scholars must demonstrate high academic achievement, integrity of character, potential leadership and financial need. NFAA Young Arts Scholarships

youngARTS is NFAA’s core program. It provides recognition and awards to young artists across the country. We are the only organization that encourages and recognizes artistic excellence in nine art forms: dance, cinematic arts, jazz, music, photography, theater, visual arts, voice, and writing. MPI Scholarship Program

College Education Funding is money designated for college work towards undergraduate or graduate degrees and requires acceptance in a program of study. The application deadline for the next major funding for the academic year is March 31, 2009. However, additional money could be available in the fund, so applications are accepted throughout the year. Application for these scholarships must be made a minimum of three (3) months early so as to meet your needed deadline. For example: If you are attending a winter semester, you must submit your application three (3) months minimum before you need to know if you received an award. Please see the following for specific qualifications for our current Category I scholarship fund.

Bill Emerson National Hunger Fellowship

The Bill Emerson National Hunger Fellowship, a project of the Congressional Hunger Center, is a unique leadership development opportunity for motivated individuals seeking to make a difference in the struggle to eliminate hunger and poverty. Each year 20 participants are selected for this eleven-month program. Fellows are placed for half their term of service with urban and rural community-based organizations all over the country involved in fighting hunger at the local level, such as grass roots organizing groups, food banks, economic development agencies, local advocacy groups and faith-based organizations. They then move to Washington, DC to complete the year with national organizations involved in the anti-hunger and poverty movement, including national advocacy organizations, think tanks, and federal agencies. Through this unique program, the Bill Emerson National Hunger Fellows Program develops effective leaders with a deep understanding of hunger and poverty at both the local and national level that enables them to find innovative solutions and create the political will to end hunger.

Micron Science and Technology Scholars Program

The Micron Science and Technology Scholars Program is a merit-based scholarship competition recognizing excellence in academics and leadership. Each year, the program awards a $25,000 college scholarship to six high school seniors for a total of up to $150,000. One male and one female student is selected from each of the following states: Idaho, Utah and Virginia.
