International Fellowships in Jewish Studies

Sponsored by the Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture, the purpose of this fellowship program is to assist qualified individuals in carrying out an independent project in a field of Jewish specialization, which contributes to Jewish culture. Anyone possessing knowledge or experience to begin a project in Jewish studies can apply for support grants of up to $10,000 each year. The submission deadline is October 31.

Mary Tabacchi Scholarship

The Mary Tabacchi Scholarship is dedicated to helping students interested in pursuing careers in spa management achieve this goal. It will be awarded to an undergraduate student who has completed at least one year of college and is seeking a spa-related degree. To be eligible for the $2,500 scholarship, an essay and other documention must accompany an application package, submitted in March.

Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund

The Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund sponsors the only merit-based scholarship program available to federal employees, their spouses, and their children. More than 400 students will receive scholarships ranging from $500 to $7,000. Eligible applicants should maintain a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, and enroll or plan to enroll at an accredited post-secondary school. An essay, recommendation letter, and transcript should accompany the application package, which is available annually from January to March.

2011 Blogger Scholarship

The 2011 Blogger Scholarship was created to encourage future leaders who are studying politics to solve some of the country's most significant concerns. The winner may be anyone between the ages of 17 and 26, who attends or has been accepted into a college or university, and is enrolled in a Political Science course during the 2011 fall semester. Applicants should submit one or more blogs addressing Overhauling Social Security, Marriage for Americans, America's Debt, or American Interventionism. Blogs should be received by November 6.

Jay Kennedy Scholarship

The Jay Kennedy scholarship is funded in memory of the late King Features editor. To be considered, applicants should send 8 samples of their own cartooning work along with a completed entry form. Those who are eligible are students at 4-year colleges in the United States, Canada, or Mexico, and will be Juniors or Seniors in the 2012-2013 academic year. Entries must be postmarked by December 15.

GO! Study Abroad Scholarship!

GO! Overseas is supporting international education through scholarships made available to students in study abroad programs. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded based on the applicant's creativity and analytical thinking, as displayed through written material, and/or video submissions. The deadline for the fall semester scholarship is September 15.

College Peas Standout Student College Scholarship

The College Peas Student Standout College Scholarship is for a student with a unique attribute that makes them different from their peers. This could be through engagement in a non-teenager activity, or NTA, that is not typically done by other teenagers. To qualify for the scholarship, applicants should be current high school students intending to enroll full-time at a four-year college, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0, and submit a short essay describing the skill that differentiates them from their peers. The application deadline is August 30.

FIRE's Freedom in Academia Essay Contest

FIRE's mission is to defend and sustain individual rights at America's colleges and universities. They strive to protect the unprotected and educate the public about the threats to these rights on campuses, and the means by which to preserve them. Upon watching two of the organization's videos, applicants should discuss in an essay why free speech is important within the nation's colleges and universities. Current high school seniors graduating in the spring of 2012 may apply to win up to $5,000 by November 5.

Walmart Associate Scholarship

The Walmart Associate Scholarship is available to Walmart and Sam's Club associates of the U.S. Awards are based on financial need and community involvement, and are available to associates pursuing certificate, assoicate, bachelor, and graduate degrees through accredited institutions of higher education. Scholarships are awarded four times a year and are due on Septemeber 1, December 1, March 1, and June 1. Applicants must have been employed by Walmart or Sam's Club at least six months before the intended application due date.

Marathon Scholars Program

The Marathon Oil Company Foundation established the Scholars Program to assist employees' children who plan to continue education in college or a vocational school program. Eligible candidates are children of current, retired, or deceased employees, and are high school seniors with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Recipients will receive awards ranging from $500 to $1,500. Up to thirty awards will be granted to the children of Marathon employees, while up to ten are designated for children of Speedway SuperAmerica employees. Applications may be postmarked no later than January 15.
