The Sam Walton Community Scholarship program, now in its 25th year, is designed to provide financial assistance to graduating seniors for their high academic achievement, example of leadership through school and community service activities, and financial need. More than 6,700 top-notch high school seniors will receive $1,000 scholarships thanks to the Sam Walton Community Scholarship program funded by the Wal-Mart & SAM'S CLUB Foundation. Each Wal-Mart Store, Neighborhood Market and SAM'S CLUB has the opportunity to award two such scholarships to be used for the student's fall 2006 freshman year tuition, books, fees and on-campus room and board at a U.S. educational institution.
Each operating Wal-Mart store and SAM'S CLUB has the opportunity to award two $1000 scholarships to qualifying local high school seniors. An independent panel of judges will select the recipients on the basis of financial need, academic record, ACT/SAT test scores and examples of leadership in school and in the community . Wal-Mart will not tolerate discrimination on the basis of race, color, age, sex, sexual orientation, religion, disability, ethnicity, national origin, marital status, veteran status, or any other legally-protected status.
Winners will be notified before May 1st. The list of winners will also be made available at www.walmartfoundation.org .

In The Fed Challenge, student teams work together to analyze factors influencing the U.S. economy and develop presentations explaining their monetary policy recommendations to current members of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC). These teams compete first at local and Federal Reserve District or Branch levels in late winter and early spring. District winners then advance to The Fed Challenge national semi-final and final rounds of competition held in Washington, D.C. in May.
The semi-finalists, finalists and the champion team will divide up $167,000 in cash scholarships, awards and grants. The champion team will receive $50,000: students will earn Citibank scholarships of up to $7,000, their faculty advisor will receive a Citibank award of up to $5,000, and their school will receive a $10,000 Citibank grant to establish and/or equip an economics lab. Since the inception of the competition, Citibank has awarded over $1 million to help students attend the school of their choice.

Students who apply must be a United States citizen or permanent resident with a minimum 2.5 Grade Point Average. In addition, students applying are required to write a 50 to 200 word essay on who has had the greatest impact on your life, and a 50 to 200 word essay on what you hope to achieve in your personal and professional life after completing college. Award: Three (3) $10,000 fellowships awarded each year to graduate students in the United States. Recipients are also awarded a computer, ESRI software, technical training access, and travel costs to conferences.

The Landscape Architecture Foundation, Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI), and the American Society of Landscape Architects jointly sponsor the Dangermond Fellowship, a national fellowship for graduate students of landscape architecture. The purpose of the fellowship is to promote and facilitate the integration of art, science, method, and technology in the study and profession of landscape architecture, and encourage the use of geographic information systems (GIS) as a framework for exploring integrated approaches to landscape assessment and intervention.

This scholarship honors the memory of Courtland P. Paul, FASLA (1927-2003) and his lifelong commitment to the landscape architecture profession. A native Californian, he became one of the state's first licensed landscape architects in 1954. Mr. Paul and Peridian International, the landscape architecture firm he founded over fifty years ago, were well known for community design and master planning, and for the golf courses, hotels, and theme parks they created in Southern California and throughout the world.
Eligible applicants include United States citizens who are undergraduate students in the final two years of study in Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board accredited schools. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and a minimum grade point average of “C.”

Kosciuszko Foundation Tuition Scholarships support American students of Polish descent for full-time graduate studies in the United States, the one-year Master's program at the Center for European Studies, Jagiellonian University, Cracow, and English Schools of Medicine in Poland.
Funding is for academic year 2006-2007. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $7,000.
* Kosciuszko FoundationTuition Scholarships have been used to support studies in architecture and city planning; accounting; art; business administration, banking and finance; chemistry; dentistry; education; engineering; journalism; law; music; medicine; medical research; social and applied sciences; sciences, violin and piano; Polish language, history and literature.
* Scholarships have also been awarded to Americans of Polish descent for law and engineering at DePaul University, Chicago; Bayonne, NJ residents studying nursing, teaching and business; and to Amsterdam, NY, Chicopee, MA and New Hampshire residents.
Tuition scholarships do not support Summer programs in Poland, year long language programs in Poland nor proposals for research in Poland - please see Summer Programs, Year Abroad Programs and Studies & Research in Poland Programs.
Eligibility
Applicant must be a United States citizen OR a permanent resident of Polish descent AND be an undergraduate senior, an entering graduate student OR a current graduate student, AND have a minimum GPA of 3.0. A United States citizen may apply for funding to support full-time graduate level Polish studies.

The AICPA Scholarships for Minority Accounting Students provides competitive awards to outstanding full time undergraduate minority students at regionally accredited institutions to encourage their: selection of accounting as a major, entry into the profession and ultimately achieving the CPA designation. Full time graduate students (who are not CPAs) seeking a masters degree in accounting or taxation and students pursuing a masters in business administration, if their undergraduate degree is in accounting, are also eligible for this program.
Undergraduate students must have completed at least 30 semester hours or equivalent of college work, with at least six hours in accounting. All applicants must have an overall and accounting grade point average of at least 3.3. Awards are primarily based on merit (academic achievement). For purposes of this program, the AICPA defines minority students as those of Black, Native American, Pacific Island races, or of Hispanic ethnic origin. All applicants must be U.S. citizens.
The scholarships are awarded by the AICPA Minority Initiatives Committee and are funded by the AICPA Foundation from monies contributed by the AICPA, its members, public accounting firms, and others. The scholarships are awarded once each year (in August) for the following academic year. All application materials must be received by the AICPA by June 1 of each year.
The maximum award is $5,000 and over the past 10 years the AICPA has awarded more than $6 million in scholarships to minority students.

Grand Prize (1)- A $10,000 Motorola cash scholarship (awarded in the form of a check); an eight (8) week summer apprenticeship at Motorola's Chief Technology Office in Schaumburg, Illinois, USA on dates specified by Sponsor; with a $5,000 stipend contingent upon winner accepting the apprenticeship; a Bluetooth enabled car of Sponsors choice with an approximate value of $30,000 and a Motorola prize package including two (2) Ojos, a new Motorola specified phone and a Bluetooth headset valued at $1,500. The total approximate value of the Grand Prize - $41,500. The eight week apprenticeship has no monetary value. Runner-Up Prizes: (3) Second Prizes- A $2,500 Motorola cash scholarship awarded in the form of a check and a Motorola prize package worth $250. Total value of Runner-Up Prize - $2,750 each.
