Kalpana Chawla Ocean Journey Scholarship

Blue Ocean Institute and Lindblad Expeditions are pleased to announce the Kalpana Chawla Ocean Journey Scholarship. This scholarship will provide high school or college students with an enriching, hands-on field study experience at sea. The winner(s) of the Kalpana Chawla Ocean Journey Scholarship will embark on a 10-day Lindblad Expeditions voyage to the Galapagos Islands in the presence of scientists, naturalists, and researchers. Alongside these skilled specialists, they will use state-of-the-art exploration tools to take part in discovering stunning natural environments as they pursue their interests in marine biology, biodiversity, or oceanography. The expedition departs on July 10, 2009. Activities include snorkeling, exploring the islands on Zodiacs and gaining intimate views of Galapagos wildlife.

Google Lime Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

Access to knowledge is our thing. When it comes to higher education for promising scholars, we don’t want anything to stand in the way. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Lime. Google is committed to helping the innovators of the future make the most of their talents by providing scholarships and networking retreats for computer science students with disabilities. Recipients of the Google Lime Scholarship will receive a scholarship for the 2009–2010 academic year. Selected students will also be invited to attend the all-expenses-paid retreat at the Googleplex in Mountain View, CA, in 2010. Scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of candidates’ academic background and demonstrated passion - $10,000USD for those studying in the US and $5,000CAD for those studying in Canada (based on average tuition costs).

Pfizer Animal Health Scholarship Program

Pfizer Animal Health has introduced Pfizer Animal Healtha new program which will fund scholarships through the AABP Foundation, the AABP Foundation - Pfizer Animal Health Scholarship Program. Through eligible purchases of Pfizer Animal Health products, donations will be made to the AABP Foundation. The AABP Foundation announces the availability of scholarships for 2009. These scholarships will be administered by the AABP Foundation with the assistance of the Amstutz Scholarship Committee. Announcement of the scholarship recipients will be made prior to the AABP Conference. Scholarship recipients will be encouraged (and funded) to attend the AABP Annual Conference in Omaha this September to receive their awards in person but attendance is not required to receive the scholarship. WHO MAY APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS? Applicants must be students who will be graduating with their veterinary degree in 2010 and are enrolled in colleges of veterinary medicine in the United States. WHEN ARE APPLICATIONS DUE? Completed applications and references must be received on-line at the AABP website by June 15, 2009.

The AARP Foundation's Women's Scholarship Program provides scholarship funds to women 40+ seeking new job skills, training, and educational opportunities to support themselves and their families. The AARP Foundation Women's Scholarship Program is available to eligible individuals with moderate to lower incomes and limited financial resources. Who is eligible to apply? To be eligible for the scholarships, applicants must be: * Women * Age 40 or over by March 31, 2009 * Able to demonstrate financial need * Enrolled in an accredited school or technical program within 6 months of the scholarship award date.
