Each year PRSSA and its sponsors give away nearly $20,000 to winners in national scholarship and awards competitions.
Information and application materials for all scholarship and award programs are sent from national headquarters to PRSSA chapter faculty advisors according to the schedule listed on the PRSSA calendar.

Kenneth Jernigan Scholarship Given by the American Action Fund for Blind Children and Adults, a nonprofit organization which works to assist blind people, in memory of the man who changed perceptions regarding the capabilities of the blind in this country and throughout the world. Kenneth Jernigan is viewed by our field as the most important figure in the 20th century in the lives of blind people. The Action Fund wishes to keep fresh and current in the 21st century the understandings he brought to the field and thus has endowed this scholarship dedicated to his memory and to the continuation of the work he began. No additional restrictions.

+ All educational expenses during the school year, including tuition, books, fees, and approved travel expenses.
+ Education expenses for summer study or university research.
+ A stipend for living expenses (currently $2380 per month, paid for 10 months of the year, plus a $500 book allowance).
+ Support for attending approved scientific conferences.
+ A mentor who is a staff member at AT&T Labs. The program emphasizes personal interaction with your mentor. For the typical recipient, this component of the program is often the most important one of all.
+ Students must be seniors graduating in the current academic year or in their first or second year of grad school.
+ They must be female or members of a minority underrepresented in science fields (Hispanic, African-American, or Native American).
+ They must be enrolled, or planning to enroll, in a graduate school program leading to a PhD.
+ They must be U. S. Citizens or permanent residents.
+ The student's major field must be in computer science, math, statistics, electrical engineering, operations research, systems engineering, industrial engineering, or related fields.

Army Emergency Relief (AER) is a private non-profit organization with the primary mission of providing financial assistance to Army Soldiers and their dependents in time of valid emergency need.
The MG James Ursano Scholarship Fund administered by AER was established in 1976 as a secondary mission to help Army families with the costs of post secondary undergraduate level education, vocational training, and preparation for acceptance by military service academies for their dependent children.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be …
Dependent children, stepchildren or legally adopted children or a ward of Army soldiers on active duty, retired, or deceased while on active duty or after retirement. Children of Reserve or National Guard soldiers mobilized under Title 10 status for the entire academic year. The children of Gray Area Retirees are also eligible.
Registered in the Defense Eligibility Enrollment Reporting System (DEERS). You can check your status at 1-800 538-9552.
Unmarried for the entire academic year.
Under the age of 22 on May 1, 2007 based on the 2007-2008 academic year (AY).
Maintain a cumulative GPA of not less than 2.0 based on a 4.0 scale.
SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES
Applicants must be enrolled, accepted, or pending acceptance as full time dependent students for the entire academic year in post-secondary school for undergraduate study. Full time attendance is required at the school accepting the scholarship funds. These schools must be accredited by the U.S. Department of Education.
Scholarship applicants must maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 grading scale for funds to be disbursed.
Awards are primarily based on financial need, as evidenced by income, family size and special financial obligations.

The application for 2007-2008 academic year are available by mail from HQ AER from November 1, 2006 through February 20, 2007.
The application can be printed as a PDF form from our website, www.aerhq.org from November 1, 2006 through March 1, 2007.
The applicant can apply online on our website, www.aerhq.org from November 1, 2006 through March 1, 2007. A signature page is not required for online applications. Students using the online application who enter an email address, will receive an automatic email response verifying import of the application. This email should be saved as proof of import.
To be considered, the scholarship application must be complete, accurate and contain all required documents and signatures, if applicable, when received according to the established deadlines.

SCHOLARSHIP FUND USES
The scholarship funds may be used to assist with tuition, fees, books, supplies, or school room and board either on or off campus at the student's request.
Scholarship funds used for room and board may be taxable. Refer to IRS Publication 520.
HOW DO I RECEIVE A SCHOLARSHIP?
Provide the requested information by the postmark deadline.
The majority of students who meet deadlines receive a scholarship, 98% in 2006-2007 AY.
Academic achievements and individual accomplishments are considered.
Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis for up to a maximum of 4 years of undergraduate study. Funds can be used for classroom or online classes at the school accepting the scholarship funds.
The student must attend as a full time student for the entire academic year.
Continuing students must apply each academic year.

Eligibility
Applicants must:
* Be high school seniors who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university or vocational-technical school.
* Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
* Reside within a 30 mile radius of a Cumberland Farms retail location.
Children of full-time or part-time Cumberland Farms, Inc. employees who meet the first two eligibilities are also encouraged to apply, regardless of residence location.
Award Criteria
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances and an outside appraisal. Financial need will be considered; all recipients must demonstrate need.
Approximately 130 one-thousand dollar ($1000) awards will be granted in 2007.
Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, age, gender, disability, or national origin. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Cumberland Farms, Inc. play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision of Scholarship America as final.

Scholarships of $2,000 will be awarded to students working full time toward an undergraduate Bachelor of Science technology degree at any fully accredited institution in the United States. Students must major in one of the following fields such as those offered by schools like ITT Tech, DeVry or Lincoln Tech: Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Network Systems, or Information Systems Security.
Candidate must be a U. S. citizen enrolled full time in a technology major and be a sophomore or junior at the time of application - minimum second-year students please. Primary consideration will be given to a military enlisted candidate.

Whether you're a college-bound high school student or already attending a college or university, Army ROTC has scholarships available. Scholarships are awarded based on a student's merit and grades, not financial need.
Army ROTC scholarships are valuable in many ways:
* Two-, three-, and four-year scholarship options based on the time remaining to complete your degree
* Full-tuition Scholarships
* Additional allowances pay for books and fees
LIVING EXPENSES
Army ROTC scholarships also provide monthly living allowances for each school year. You can earn certain amounts depending on your level in the Army ROTC curriculum:
* 1st year$300 per month
* 2nd year$350 per month
* 3rd year$450 per month
* 4th year$500 per month
This allowance is also available to all non-scholarship Cadets enrolled in the Army ROTC Advanced Course (3rd and 4th year).

The Public Investor Scholarship of $5,000 (may be two awards of $2,500 each) is available for award to an employee of a local government or other public entity who is enrolled or plans to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate program in public administration, finance, business administration, or related field. The purpose of the Public Investor Scholarship is to support the studies of full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate students with career interests in the efficient and productive investment of public funds.
Eligibility:
* Employed at least one year by a state, local, government or other public entity.
* Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in public administration, finance, business administration, or related field before funds are awarded.
* Citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada.
* Recommendation by your employer.
* Student has not been a past winner of a scholarship administered by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada are not eligible to apply.
