Scholarships for agriculture studies

The New York Farm Bureau is encouraging high school seniors who have been involved with agriculture and plan on continuing studies in this field to apply for the 2010 New York Farm Bureau Agricultural Youth Scholarship. Students applying must have a family Farm Bureau membership or a Student Farm Bureau membership (a membership application may be included with scholarship enclosures). Students are required to complete an application and submit a brief essay answering the question, “If you had the power to change something in your community or on your farm, what would you change and why?”

New York Urban League Enterprise Scholarship

Do you know a deserving college student who needs a little help making ends meet in these tough economic times? Enterprise Rent-A-Car has partnered with the New York Urban League to establish a scholarship/internship program designed to provide financial support for local college students. We hope that college students will take advantage of this opportunity, said Carole Lakin, group relations manager of Enterprise Rent-A-Car in New York and New Jersey. The scholarship/internship program allows us to provide students with the tools they need to get ahead in the current competitive job market and help ease the financial burden of tuition. In order to qualify, applicants must currently be enrolled in a 4-year accredited college or university in the New York area and be a senior as of September 2009. Three winners will be selected for an internship at Enterprise Rent-A-Carthrough the New York Urban League and will receive $2000 towards their college education from the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation.
