Germany Scholarships

Bayer supports study projects, internships, summer courses, preparatory and supplementary study courses, as well as theses and doctoral studies (the program does not include post-doctoral scholarships). The foundation places great emphasis on internationalism, and therefore scholarships are granted exclusively to students from German-speaking countries wishing to study abroad and foreign applicants who want to study in Germany.

M.Sc. Program: KSOP Scholarship Program Facts: - Scholarship of 800 Euro/month for international students - Scholarship of 400 Euro/month for German students - Mandatory Research - Application deadline: July 15 each year The program is divided into four stages, providing you as a student with the necessary prerequisites (Stage I: Introduction), to give you a solid background on the most important topics within the wide and diverse field of Optics & Photonics (Stage II: Core Subjects) and to let you acquire specialization knowledge in one of the four research areas (Stage III: Specialisation) to be able to competently perform a six-month research project on a current topic of research (Stage IV: Master's Thesis). In addition, an 8-week industrial internship is scheduled between stages II and III. Ph.D. Program: Our Ph.D. students are involved in an excellent research environment in the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) which bundles the research and education strengths of the Universität Karlsruhe (TH) and the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe together with strong partners like the Research Centre for Information Technologies in Karlsruhe (FZI) and the Stuttgart-based Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research (ZSW). The compulsory modules consist of a specific training program which includes units from a catalog of technical, scientific and management modules. Since successful careers in industry or academia often require leadership and interdisciplinary knowledge, emphasis is placed on management skills, which are taught within the KSOP at the HECTOR School of Engineering & Management, the business school of the Universität Karlsruhe (TH). A scientifically oriented PhD advisor concept and a sophisticated non-scientifically related mentorship model assure the high quality of Ph.D. projects as well as a very effective 3-year PhD research period.
