Criteria: The scholarships are open to members of The Ninety-Nines, Inc. Read all about the Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarships. AOPA ASF SCHOLARSHIP The Koch Corp. sponsors one AOPA Air Safety Foundation $1,500 award for a Kentucky resident in an accredited aviation program. Exxon Mobil Lubricants and Petroleum Specialties contributes four scholarships at $2,000 each (two for regular academic aviation and two specifically restricted to A&P students). CHARLOTTE HAMMOND MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $1,000 Criteria: Imperial County, CA resident; student who has soloed and passed the written examination Deadline: November CONTACT: Mari Hurley COLORADO CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP A $500 scholarship is awarded yearly to a woman student pilot in the state of Colorado to complete her private license. CONNECTICUT CHAPTER $1000 SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY Criteria: Female, residing or studying in the State of Connecticut, holding current medical certificate, and planning to make aviation a vocation, or an avocation that will contribute to The 99s mission of encouraging women to enter the world of aviation. COYOTE COUNTRY CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIPS - $1,000 We are offering both the Pam Van Der Linden Memorial Scholarship and the Mary Santosuosso Aviation Scholarship. Both are $1,000 for advanced ratings and your application makes you eligible for both scholarships. The Karla Carroll Memorial Scholarship for $1,000 (both of these are open to men and women) 3. The William Bridge Scholarship for $1,000 (open to women with at least their private pilot rating). EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA CHAPTER 99s AVIATION SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship award can be used for any aviation purpose. Criteria: Applicant must be female who resides, is employed, or attends school in the Greater Delaware Valley; must be at least 16 years old at the time of application. There is no upper age limit. Applicant must be available for a personal interview with the Scholarship Committee. Deadline: All parts of the completed application must be postmarked by April 30. LEROY W. HOMER JR. FOUNDATION In order to be considered for a 2006 scholarship, applications need to be online and submitted/postmarked by Tuesday, January 31, 2006. Applications postmarked after January 31, 2006, or applications with no postmark will be rejected. The Foundation Scholarship Committee will notify the selected scholarship recipients by May 1, 2006. LONG ISLAND CHAPTER 99s Full tuition to Dowling College School of Aviation's Summer Camp Camp is one week long, usually in July. Dowling College National Transportation Center (NAT) is located in Shirley, New York (on Long Island about 66 miles east of New York City.) Criteria: Girls only, must be going into 11th or 12th grade. For other requirements contact the Long Island Chapter Chair by June 1st of the year you want to attend.
