Urban Financial Services Coalition New York Scholarships
High School Scholarship ($2,000):
- Graduating High School Senior
- Planning to attend an accredited two or four-year college or university in the Fall of 2007
- Minimum B or 80% grade point average
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and/or school and community involvement
- 2 Letters of Recommendation- All applicants are required to provide two letters of reference from a
teacher or school official, community representative or current/previous employer. This letter should
expound on the applicant's demonstrated ability in academics, extracurricular activities, character and
leadership (on letterhead, one page maximum).
- Official High School Transcript
- Completed Essay
- Completed Application
College Scholarship ($2,000):
- Currently attending an accredited two or four-year college or university
- Minimum GPA: 3.0
- Financial Services related degree (i.e., finance, accounting, economics, business, management,
business administration, marketing, law, technology, etc.)
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and/or school and community involvement
- 2 Letters of Recommendation - All applicants are required to provide a letter of reference from a
teacher or school official, community representative or current/previous employer. This letter should
expound on the applicant's demonstrated ability in academics, extracurricular activities, character and
leadership (on letterhead, one page maximum).
- Proof of registration for the next semester with minimum of 12-credit course load
- Official Transcript
- Completed Essay
- Completed Application
Scholarship Candidates will be selected based on ranking in the following areas:
Leadership: Candidates should be able to demonstrate character and leadership skills through their
involvement in community organizations and/or through their place of employment
Career Goals: Preference will be given to those candidates electing to pursue a career in business, financial
services or a related industry. The candidate's curriculum should reflect the stated career
goal.
Essay & GPA: Candidates will be judged on written communications skills and overall grade point average.
