The Woodlands G.R.E.E.N. Scholarship (Visit this link)

Applications are now being accepted by The Woodlands G.R.E.E.N. (Grass Roots Environmental Education Network) for the environmental organization’s 2008 Scholarship Program. Up to three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors in recognition of their environmental contributions and stewardship activities in the community.
Any high school senior from South Montgomery County who exemplifies a commitment to caring for the environment and plans to continue his or her education or vocational training after graduation is eligible to apply.
Candidates are required to complete the application form and submit a brief essay describing how volunteer activities have influenced their attitude about the environment and how it will affect their actions in the future. Candidates also have the option of providing up to two letters of recommendation. Winners will be announced at the April 12th Earth Day Festival.
Located in The Woodlands, Texas, The Woodlands GrassRoots Environmental Education Network is a 501c3 non-profit, educational organization that promotes natural resource conservation, recycling, solid waste reduction, safe and sensible care of our air and water resources and other responsible actions that protect the environment and its inhabitants. Most notably, the organization introduced recycling to the community and has been co-organizer of The Woodlands Earth Day Festival since 1990.
