Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, an essay (optional for some scholarships, see specific eligibility guidelines), unusual personal or family circumstances, financial need, and an outside appraisal.
Scholarship America will select finalists and the James Beard Foundation will select recipients. All applicants will be notified by the end of July. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
APPLICATION
Interested students must complete the application and mail it along with a current, complete official transcript of grades to Scholarship America postmarked no later than May 15. On-line transcripts and grade reports are not acceptable.
Applicants must submit two complete sets of all application materials to Scholarship America.
