MTG Contest # 3: Musical Video Scholarship
Prize: $1000 Scholarship
Eligibility: All individuals that meet the following criteria:
Must be registered on MTG with a populated profile
Must be involved in music, either scholastic or non-scholastic
Must be a high school student
Date Due: May 15, 2009
Welcome student,
The Musical Video Scholarship is designed to award a 1000 dollar scholarship to the student that successfully submits a musical video that most completely depicts the students strengths and talent in his or her chosen musical instrument (including voice). Musical instruments are not limited to classical or contemporary instruments, if you feel that you are the best “pot and pan” drummer in the world or if you are a classical piano prodigy, all submissions are welcome.
Choosing the Winner:
MoreThanGrades will choose the finalists, but YOU will choose the winners!
Several finalists will be chosen. These finalists will have their videos publicly displayed after which we will start accepting voting through email. More information to come on voting!
Some things to consider:
Video Tips
Many admissions officers do not have the time to watch extensive videos. Videos should be limited to clips (less than 2 minutes in length) that clearly and concisely convey your message.
Use the WHOLE profile
Teacher recommendations and coach and counselor contact information can help by serving as additional references. Ask your teachers, coaches, and counselors to sign up, find you, and rate your talent!
Good Luck!
