The MoreThanGrades “20K” Scholarship will be awarded to a student who best displays that he or she is MORE THAN A GRADE. We, at MoreThanGrades, want to see the students who stand out among their peers, doing extraordinary things on a day-to-day basis.
Criteria for the 20K Scholarship include:
• A fully completed MoreThanGrades Profile
• A specific video for the 20K Scholarship posted on YouTube and embedded on your MoreThanGrades Profile
• At least two teacher recommendations
• At least 5 MoreThanGrades student referrals
Details on Criteria:
• Fully Completed MoreThanGrades Profile
o Personal Information
o Major or Intended Area of Study
o College Information
o Portfolio
o My Videos
• Specific Video for 20K Scholarship
o Must be posted on YouTube and embedded on your MoreThanGrades profile
o Your username for this YouTube account should be “MoreThanGrade” followed by your Student ID # found in print/preview section (Example: MoreThanGrades2112)
• Teacher Recommendations
o Minimum of 2 Teacher Recommendations for a 20K scholarship application
o Teacher recommendations could come from coaches, guidance counselors, teachers, music instructors, club advisors, etc. The recommendations MUST come from an individual employed at your current high school
• 5 MoreThanGrades student referrals
o Within the scholarship application email (found in the scholarships/contests tab), you must include the first and last name and email of 5 individuals you have referred to MoreThanGrades.
o In order to be considered as a finalist for this scholarship, you must have 5 valid MoreThanGrades student referrals to be eligible for the 20K scholarship
To Apply:
1. Click on the “Scholarship/Contests” tab
2. On the subject line, write your name, MTG Student ID number (found in the print/preview section), as well as the contest which you are applying for (in this case: 20K Scholarship) – For Example: John Smith, ID: 34443, 20K Scholarship
3. In the message box, please briefly introduce yourself and tell us why you think you deserve this scholarship (No more than a short paragraph!). Here, you must also provide the first and last names and emails of at least 5 individuals you have referred to MoreThanGrades.com
Choosing the Winner:
MoreThanGrades will be choosing the finalists, but YOU will be choosing the winners. An email about voting for winners will be sent to all MoreThanGrades students at the scholarship deadline.
Winners will be chosen based on a completed profile that best shows how YOU are more than a grade!
*Referrals must be registered MoreThanGrades.com members at the time of the final scholarship selections.
