Boston College Bank of America Teacher/Scholar Award (Visit this link)

This award was created through the generosity of the Bank of America to support the teacher education program of ten academically talented students per year from groups underrepresented in the profession and in academic areas, such as mathematics, the sciences and Spanish, where there are critical shortages of qualified teachers. Some shortages, like Spanish, are regional while those in mathematics and the sciences are nationwide. The Award represents a partnership between the Bank of America and the Lynch School to increase the number of well prepared teachers to teach in urban schools. It comprises six credits of tuition remission and a stipend of $15,000. A portion of the award is a direct grant, and another portion is a forgivable loan, following graduation and service in an urban school system. By nomination of faculty at the time of admission.
