History Channel Save Our History Scholarshp Contest
Are you a student who is involved in your local history in a unique and creative way? Have you volunteered at a local historical society or museum, or participated in an effort to clean up, document or preserve the history of your community? If you have participated in a hands-on local history project, you are eligible to win up to $5,000 in the Save Our History National Honors!
The History Channel will honor students who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to learning about, documenting and preserving their local history. This year, 24 students who participate in local history/preservation projects, extracurricular history-themed service-learning projects, or independent study projects tied to history will win $1,000 cash prizes. One student will receive a $5,000 cash prize and a free trip to Washington, D.C., where he/she will be recognized as the Save Our History Student of the Year at the Save Our History National Honors Event in May 2006. EVERY student who submits an application for the National Honors will receive a Save our History t-shirt from The History Channel.
