FIRE's Freedom in Academia Essay Contest
FIRE's mission is to defend and sustain individual rights at America's colleges and universities. They strive to protect the unprotected and educate the public about the threats to these rights on campuses, and the means by which to preserve them. Upon watching two of the organization's videos, applicants should discuss in an essay why free speech is important within the nation's colleges and universities. Current high school seniors graduating in the spring of 2012 may apply to win up to $5,000 by November 5.
