Cumberland Farms Believe and Achieve Scholarship Program
Eligibility
Applicants must:
* Be high school seniors who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university or vocational-technical school.
* Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
* Reside within a 30 mile radius of a Cumberland Farms retail location.
Children of full-time or part-time Cumberland Farms, Inc. employees who meet the first two eligibilities are also encouraged to apply, regardless of residence location.
Award Criteria
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances and an outside appraisal. Financial need will be considered; all recipients must demonstrate need.
Approximately 130 one-thousand dollar ($1000) awards will be granted in 2007.
Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, age, gender, disability, or national origin. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Cumberland Farms, Inc. play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision of Scholarship America as final.
